Ren Wolfe

Ren Wolfe is an early career, Cardiff based, multi-disciplinary artist whose practice explores how we can use play and imagination to understand ourselves, our communities, and the world around us.

She draws inspiration from a varied well of inspiration including medieval illustrations, childhood memories, puppetry, and theatre sets and costumes. From this she creates informal and playful sculptures made of papier-mâché, painted cardboard, and textiles, as well as paintings, video, and photographic pieces.

When not doing something creative, she love gardening and drinking too much Earl Grey tea. In 2022 she received her Masters of Fine Art from Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Ren’s piece for PWSH explores masking, imagination, and the relationship between the diversity in both the natural world and the human world.

Ren’s mural is in the new Aubergine Cafe at Cathays Community Centre. Take a look at our photos online for now, and then visit in person in early August when Aubergine Cafe reopens in it’s new home.
